EPHWOR Petitions the Ministry of Health over the continued detention of Female Patients in Health Facilities
EPHWOR supported by its Strategic partners has Petitioned the Ministry of Health over the continued detention of Patients in Health Facilities, this practice contravenes the constitution, Several Acts of Parliament, International law that Uganda has ratified and the Patients charter.
If the ministry does not address this matter as soon as possible EPHWOR will Pursue a public interest suit against Government.

Mother dies in Labur over Health Centre’s negligence at Kakumiro – Kasambya
The husband moved around and found the maternity ward closed with other offices shut. He was told to wait for some hours until the mid-wife or the in charge of the health facility came back from the weekend break. He spent a whole day at Kakumiro Health Centre IV. The next health centre was more than 25k away, and the woman died on the way.

EPHWOR highlights details of its public interest suit against Mariestopes Uganda, National Drug Authority & Attorney General. The suit entails the negligent and illegal roll out of defective lifeguard condoms by Mariestopes under the watch of National Drug Authority (NDA) and Attorney General. These defective condoms were used by a section of Ugandans hence contracting STDs, getting unwanted pregnancies.
